Jon and I were married at PMSS in October 2025, and there aren’t enough words to describe how perfect it was. The beautiful fall weather, our family and friends gathered together, and the vibrant colors of the mountains made the entire weekend feel magical. We spent the weekend on campus with our loved ones, enjoying a delicious reception dinner prepared by the staff (our guests still talk about those carrots!) and breakfast the following morning.
Our ceremony in the chapel was everything we had hoped for: classic, historic, and deeply rooted in Appalachian culture. PMSS was the perfect setting for our wedding, and it quickly became a place that will always hold a special place in our hearts. So, as our first anniversary approached this year, we couldn’t imagine celebrating anywhere else.
We returned to PMSS and stayed in Old Log, just as we had on our wedding weekend. We spent our days walking the grounds, visiting the chapel, and hiking the trails, taking time to revisit our favorite memories and reflect on the year we had shared. Being back brought us right back to that beautiful fall weekend in the mountains and reminded us how lucky we were to begin our marriage in such a meaningful place. It was the perfect way to celebrate our first year together and make even more memories somewhere that will always feel like a part of our story.
